The IT.com registry offers domain names at the third level, i.e. you acquire example.it.com. Otherwise these names act as any others, with many registrars handling them, and you can set your nameservers or forwarding the same as for second level domain names.

Third Level

•How Do I See Pricing? Any name you see in one of the lists has a link. Simply click that to see pricing for the domain name at a third-party marketplace.
•Is That the Price for One Year? You only need pay that purchase price once, but there is a much lower annual renewal fee established by the registry, and paid to your chosen registrar. The annual renewal is typically $15 to $120 per year, depending on extension and registrar.
•Why Don't You Sell Direct? For both your protection and ease of transaction, it is better to deal through a third-party marketplace or service. They offer a variety of payment options, and will not release your payment to me until the name has successfully transferred to you.
•Can I Purchase Through a Different Marketplace than theone at link? Most of our names can be sold through various marketplaces such as Atom, Spaceship, GoDaddy/Afternic, Sedo or the registrar where the name is held, such as Dynadot, NameSilo, Porkbun, Sav, Unstoppable and others. Pricing may vary slightly. Drop us an email with the name and your preferred marketplace. We will send a link for purchase of the name at that marketplace if it is possible.
•Is There Flexibility on Pricing? We want to see these names used, and will try to make that possible. Send a message with the name you are interested in, and we will see if a price reduction is possible, perhaps by using a specific vendor for the sale.
•Is it Technically Difficult to Set Up a Redirection? No! At most registrars it can be done in less than a minute requiring few technical skills. If you need help for a particular registrar, just ask.
•Can I See One In Use? Yes. We can temporarily redirect a name to a site so you can see the redirection in action.
•Can I Point Main Domain Name and The Subdomain to Different Sties? Yes. To see it in action currently we have directed We.Have.Golf to our OwnThePhrase website, while Have.Golf is just set to the for sale page for the domain name.
•Is Lease-To-Own Possible? Yes, in most cases this could be set up through a marketplace where you pay so much a month, are able to use the name while leased, and ownership is transferred after all payments are made. The lease program is administered by a third party marketplace, such as Spaceship.
•Are These Real Domain Names?Yes. These are all real domain names that operate under the centralized and regulated DNS system. All browsers support them, and you have the regulation and protections as offered by ICANN or the country code registry. We do not offer any so-called Web3 or blockchain 'domains.'
•How Do I Save on Renewal Fee? For some extensions different registrars charge different amounts for exactly the same one year of registration. Services such as TLDES.com compare pricing for any TLD (extension). Note that you want to look at Transfer or Renewal pricing, that is usually more than the initial registration price. If you would like us to suggest registrars for a particular name we are happy to do so.
•Do My Registration and Hosting Need to be at Same Company? No. In fact there are some advantages in not having them at the same registrar. You simply set the nameservers at your registrar according to those specified by your hosting provider. This needs only be done once. For example, we have the domain name for this site registered at Spaceship, but we use Carrd as our web hoster for the site.
•Isn't It Expensive and Complex to Maintain Two Different Domain Names? In most cases you are not maintaining two sites, but rather having one domain name point to the other. You set up that redirection once, and it is done. The only ongoing cost is annual renewals of the domain names.
